Issues with Web2 Lottery Platforms
Transparency and Fairness Concerns:
On traditional Web2 lottery platforms, transparency and fairness are often questioned. For instance, when players participate in lottery games, they cannot verify if the game results are fair or if the drawing process is transparent, leading to a crisis of trust. LuckyWeb leverages the advantages of blockchain technology to provide publicly verifiable game results and openly transparent gaming processes, ensuring fairness and transparency.
Centralized Control Issue:
Traditional Web2 platforms are often operated by a single company or institution with centralized control, allowing them to change game rules or even manipulate game outcomes arbitrarily. For example, some players may lose games due to platform manipulation, undermining the platform's fairness and impartiality. LuckyWeb utilizes decentralized smart contract technology to ensure that game rules and outcomes cannot be manipulated or altered by anyone.
Trust Issues:
Due to the aforementioned problems, many players harbor suspicions toward traditional Web2 lottery platforms, fearing that their investments may not yield fair returns. For instance, some players may worry that even if they win a game, the platform may refuse to pay out winnings for various reasons. Firstly, we have adopted Ethereum's Layer 2 scaling solution, Arbitrum. Leveraging its unique optimization mechanism, Arbitrum significantly enhances transaction speed and scalability while reducing transaction costs. As a result, LuckyWeb achieves complete transparency in the lottery process, allowing every player to verify the fairness of the game and eliminate trust barriers.
Secondly, we employ smart contract technology to ensure the fairness and equity of the game. The smart contracts contain all game rules and reward mechanisms, which once deployed, cannot be tampered with. This eliminates the centralized control issue present in traditional platforms, ensuring all players have a fair chance to compete.
Moreover, blockchain technology inherently provides higher data security and privacy protection. Each player's personal information and transaction data are effectively safeguarded. No one can access or manipulate this data, significantly reducing the risk of information leakage or misuse.
In the future, LuckyWeb plans to become a cross-chain protocol. We will deploy our smart contracts on different blockchains, achieving true decentralization. Moreover, we are researching how to achieve greater privacy protection at the architectural level of our contracts.
